This pant is made to be worn with only underwear underneath. Temperature range is 60f. to 120f. For cold/wet weather it is possible to wear hi tech thermal underwear along with a rain pant to go over the top. Features • The entire back section of the pant is made with a woven blend of Kevlar/Dynatec and Lycra. This four way stretch blend breathes better than a cotton t-shirt in hot weather yet works better than leather in cold weather. This material breathes differently from any other motorcycle apparel. If you put your mouth up to the outside of the material and blow, it is a little restrictive. If you put your mouth up to the inside of the material and blow, it breathes better than a cotton t-shirt. The Stretch Kevlar breathes better than perforated leather. The entire front section is the new open-weave Mesh Kevlar that is 10 times stronger than best competition grade leather. The pant has a nylon mesh lining on the inside. Without this lining it would be possible to see the skin through the Mesh Kevlar. No restriction of air flow even at slow speeds. When stopped you can feel the air though the Mesh Kevlar. Much better than even wearing shorts in hot weather. • Two zippered outside vertical upper hip pockets. • Four inch waist stretch panel that functions as a kidney belt. This makes putting on pants easier and provides a comfortable fit, especially during long rides. • Leg cuff zippers with Velcro closures that lock the zippers in place. • Heavy duty fly zipper. • All zippers are YKK. • All critical seams are Safety Lock Stitched with five threads woven on the inside and double stitched over the top. Each thread has over 100lbs. tear strength. THE GP-2 Air Mesh KEVLAR PANT HAS OVER 2000LBS. Repairs average 3 to 5 working days. • Full circumference Heavy Duty YKK zipper in the waist area to connect to the GP2 Jacket or other waist cut jackets. • World's top rated, lightweight Tri-Armor that fully covers: full knee/shin and full wrap-around thigh armor. Thin, closed-cell, perforated EVA Foam is sewn into the upper hip areas. If we used Tri-Armor or any other stiff or thick EVA Foam, it would did into the thigh when sitting on the bike. About Kevlar Why is this better? The Mesh Kevlar is 10 times stronger, and the Stretch Kevlar is 5 times stronger than leather and less than half the weight. All that Motoport has seen are made of Polyester that has a 100% Polyurethane Coating. Polyester has poor tear/abrasion strength along with a very low melting range. Adding Polyurethane coating to Polyester is like adding gas to a fire. Sliding on pavement with any other Air Mesh jacket or pant is not safe. We have seen many riders with permanent skin damage where the Polyurethane coating melted into the skin. (See Polyurethane in Cycleport's Dictionary.) The new Air Mesh material has the highest tear strength of any motorcycle pant ever made! 500 Denier Cordura (the best material companies use for overall construction will tear at 22lbs). The Air Mesh Kevlar material tears at 1260 pounds. Take your body weight and multiply that by the speed on a motorcycle. All the other nylon jackets and pants made can tear at a low speed tumble! If the best material of all other synthetic jacket/pants tears at 22lbs. imagine how poor the seam strength is! No other leather suit or synthetic suit has proper seam strength. Cycleport Safety Lock Stitches all of the construction seams that will provide more than 2000lbs. of strength. Sizing These pants are made for you in your exact size. All sizes can be made. In some cases a custom charge may apply. This is when denim pant sent is larger than a 50 waist or inseam is longer than 36”. You will need to send us a well fitting (denim) pant so that Motoport can use them as a guide for accuracy.
